FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About GOTY Ranking
How pairwise Elo comparisons help you build a personal Game of the Year ballot.
How is a GOTY ranker better than making a manual top 10 list?
Ordering 10 to 20 great games manually is overwhelming because top contenders all feel close in quality. Choosing between just two games at a time removes decision paralysis and calculates your true order mathematically.
Can I include older games I played this year?
Yes. Your personal GOTY list can include brand-new releases alongside backlog classics you experienced for the first time.
How many matchups does it take to crown a #1 game?
Just 10 to 15 pairwise picks are enough to separate your #1 Game of the Year from your runners-up.
