How does the Steam library import work?
Rank My Games connects to the official Steam Web API using your public Steam ID or custom URL. It reads your owned games, matches them with high-resolution vertical cover art, and imports them into your personal library for pairwise ranking.
Does my Steam profile need to be public?
Yes. Your Steam profile and game details must be set to public in Steam Privacy Settings so the API can read your game list. You can switch it back to private anytime after the import finishes.
Is my Steam account safe?
Yes. Rank My Games never asks for your Steam password or login credentials. The import only queries public game data provided by the official Steam Web API.
Does Steam playtime determine my ranking?
No. Steam playtime is imported for your reference, but it does not dictate your ranking. Your head-to-head choices and personal Elo rating decide which games truly belong at the top.
What if I have hundreds of games in my library?
Our smart pairwise algorithm prioritizes matchups among games you are actively comparing, so you don't need to vote on thousands of permutations. After just 10-20 choices, your clear favorites will emerge.
